Hi, I’m George Staniland a creative front-end developer crafting robust, production-ready websites for designers and studios.

I have 5 years of experience building websites and web applications. Previously at Superstar Websites and The Web Guys, and most recently at New Territory Studio, I am currently available for contract projects.

Projects

Atmos

This project focused on turning a new brand identity and wireframe into a robust, extensible website. As the lead front-end developer, I was responsible for building the interface, implementing animations, and establishing a scalable foundation for future CMS growth.

  • Worked cross-functionally with the design team, getting briefed on wireframes and animation references and converting these into a refined, production-ready front-end

  • Modelled structured content within Sanity CMS (e.g. staff profiles, podcasts, blog posts, and core page types) to support long-term scalability

  • Integrated with third-party APIs to surface dynamic content and connect forms to the selected CRM

  • Created interactive visuals using HTML Canvas and GSAP, including flocking-style simulations and subtle motion throughout the site

  • Delivered a flexible codebase designed to be incrementally extended over time

The result is a polished, on-brand website that brings the new identity to life through performance-focused development and refined interaction design. The platform provides a strong foundation for ongoing enhancements and continues to be built on.

UMAC

UMAC ( University of Melbourne Arts and Culture ) required a modern digital space to list events, news, and venue information in a way that felt vibrant and easy to navigate. As the front-end developer, I worked from Figma wireframes provided by an external Australian agency and translated the visual system into a fully responsive build using Kirby CMS.

I established global typography and colour variables to ensure consistency across the site and future-proof ongoing content updates. The entire interface was built using reusable CMS blocks, giving the UMAC team the flexibility to create new pages without design drift.

Onboard

Onboard required a modern, scalable website to present a wide range of accounting services in a way that felt clear, approachable, and on-brand. I worked as the front-end developer, building the interface and interactive elements while ensuring the content could be managed flexibly by the client team.

  • Developed reusable CMS blocks to handle a large volume of service pages without design or content inconsistency

  • Implemented GSAP-driven animations and modals to add subtle movement and enhance clarity without distracting from core information

  • Built custom JavaScript calculators for Loan Repayments and Business Affordability, improving user self-service and engagement

  • Integrated LazyLoad and Imgix to optimise media delivery and maintain fast performance across all devices

The result is a refreshed, contemporary website that simplifies complex information and supports a clean, consistent design system. The new structure makes content easier to navigate, visually aligns with the updated brand, and a solid CMS setup gives the business control for ongoing website growth.

The Female Athlete Project

The Female Athlete Project required a custom Shopify build that supported product sales while also showcasing the brand’s storytelling through podcast archives and a blog. As the front-end developer, I was responsible for translating Figma wireframes and prototypes into a fully responsive, production-ready Shopify theme.

  • Developed a custom Shopify theme with reusable sections

  • Implemented a tailored e-commerce experience, aligning UI and UX closely with the brand’s visual direction

  • Built flexible layouts for podcasts and blog articles, enabling the site to function as both a store and a content platform

  • Integrated LazyLoad to optimise media delivery and maintain fast page performance

The result is a highly functional online store that presents products, podcasts, and editorial content in one cohesive experience. It tells the story of the brand while supporting smooth purchasing, easy content management, and a scalable foundation for future growth.

EM Advisory

EM Advisory needed their existing website replatformed onto a more manageable and scalable CMS. As the front-end developer, I rebuilt the site in Kirby CMS, translating the simple yet refined design into a clean, reliable interface while replicating all existing functionality with greater stability and consistency.

The project included implementing sitewide search, adding contextual “next page” links, and ensuring all design elements were executed with precision. The result is a considered, well-crafted site with a handful of tasteful interactions and a CMS structure that makes ongoing content management significantly easier.

Tyler St

Working from an in-house designer’s direction, I built the site using Kirby CMS, translating the design to code with precision and matching the branding in both layout and motion.

The site uses reusable CMS blocks, making it simple for the Tyler St team to create new pages, add content sections, and update food and drink menus while keeping everything visually consistent. Integrations with SportsYear and ResDiary provide real-time sports schedules and seamless booking functionality. The result is a distinctive, strongly branded website that’s easy to maintain and keeps visitors informed with up-to-the-minute venue details.
